Who is Reach Volunteering?

We connect people to make change. We inspire, support and connect civil society organisations and volunteers to work together, sharing skills and expertise to create a better society.

Through our online platform, people can volunteer to share their professional skills with good causes, while charities and not-for-profits can find volunteers and trustees with the expertise to help them thrive. Find out more about how it works here.

What volunteer opportunities can I post?

You can post opportunities for short-term projects or ongoing roles including trustees or board members. This could be anything from developing your website to implementing a new social media strategy, to auditing your accounts or providing long-term fundraising advice. Check out our current roles for inspiration and get started with our sample role templates and project library.

Do I have to meet certain criteria?

Yes, we review all organisations and opportunities to check they meet our criteria.

To join Reach, you much must be:

• A charity or other non-profit – click here to find out more
• UK-based
• Operational and already delivering public benefit

We need to see that roles:

• Require at least three years’ professional experience, unless you’re specifically looking for board members with lived experience of your cause
• Are UK-based
• Don’t ask too much of the volunteer in terms of time or responsibility
• Don’t expect volunteers to cover their expenses, or pay to take part including through membership fees or DBS checks. Organisations must be prepared to cover volunteers’ costs, including travel expenses.
